Betsy Beads is a gorgeous new book that will tempt you into the world of beaded knitting.  Serious temptation alert.

Since this book is so full of terrific beaded projects, we now are stocking beads for your knitting.  And not just any beads - Myuki beads.

Myuki beads are from Japan and are particularly well-suited for knitting because the holes are extra large.  They also happen to be really pretty.  We are carrying size 6 Myuki beads in one of the largest selections to be found in the Twin Cities.

Just a reminder - our Stash Busting Blanket Knitalong is this coming Monday night, February 27 6-8pm.  It's free, but please call or email to reserve a seat.  Bring along your stash - same weight is best.

This modular blanket is an excellent stash buster - we'll be giving out tips for knitting this one up.  We'll also talk about other stash busting ideas, such as this cushion.  It started as a blanket, but wouldn't you know, a cushion cover is just faster.  Sometimes sweater backs make great pillows - hopefully we'll get you thinking - and knitting!

Lots of new design booklets are one the front table!

Lots of baby patterns, an excellent Noro booklet and the spring/summer edition of Katia.

We'll be featuring the new yarns over the next several weeks - many wonderful choices for warm weather knitting and crochet.  One of those interesting new yarns is Syros from Katia.

Syros is a fine cord-like cotton blend which looks like a fantastic choice for lace and fringe.  Great yardage too!

BIG shipment from KFI yesterday, including several new scarf yarns - those "netting" type yarns that make those stunning ruffley scarves.

Petals has a lovely ribbon entwined with the netting edge.  Bossa Nova has bright exciting colors for warm weather entertainment.

We also have a couple of new pattern booklets that show these yarns embellishing sweaters - take a look and see what fun edging they can make!

Last week's huge yarn shipment included new sock yarns from veteran sock yarn purveyor Regia.

Regia's yarns feature color design by the best in the business.  Garden Effect uses the palette of Kristin Nicholas - lots of bright pinks, fuschia and chartreuse.  Ombre Stripe by Kaffe Fassett is a bit tamer, with gradual but regular stripes in the perfect color coordination that only Kaffe can do.

Regia yarns wear like iron - really an excellent choice for socks.  Fun socks.

Along with the avalanche of new spring yarns, we are showing the Alice Peterson Needlepoint Trunk Show for the month of February.  A nice assortment of cheery canvases, these pieces are mostly small, in large mesh - great for a novice needlepointer!
